EAP

In EAP students will practice and orally present their G6 Learning Journey.

ENGLISH 

Students will read aloud their Social Issues book to ES students.

SOCIAL STUDIES

The PSA and paragraph are due.

SCIENCE

A final assessment on erosion will take place.

It is the last full week of May and we have three weeks of school to go.

EAP

In EAP students will work on their final EAP assessment- an oral presentation on their G6 Learning Journey. Presentations will take place in class next week.

 ENGLISH 

Students will polish their drafts and publish their Social Issues children’s book. The due date was originally Friday, but teachers have said you can have until early next week, so check with your English teacher regarding your classes’ final due date.

SOCIAL STUDIES

The PSA will be worked on and a paragraph explaining what it means.

SCIENCE

The Plate Tectonic assessment is on Monday. Students will then learn about the process of erosion.

In EAP students will work on:

  • Take a vocab and sentence structure quiz (B block)
  • Prepare for a speaking assessment in coming up in 2 weeks
  • Review vocabulary and concepts in SS & Science
  • Prepare for the SS assessment on the Materials Economy
  • Continue to read Social Issue books to support English 

 ENGLISH 

Students will work on planning and creating their Social Issues storybook. You can also work on this at home.

SOCIAL STUDIES 

You should know all the terms related to the materials economy, which include: extraction, production, distribution, consumption, disposal and sustainability. You should be able to explain the positive and negative effects on each component of the economy.

SCIENCE

Students will review the vocab and concepts related to plate tectonics for an assessment this week. Make sure you can plot precise coordinates on a map!

EAP

WIDA testing will be completed this week. Tests are then moderated, (that means they are checked by other teachers) next week, and results will be available at the end of May.

In EAP sessions students will work on:

  • Finish WIDA Reading
  • Review grammar and vocab for an EAP Quiz on Friday (G block) & next Monday (B block)
  • Review vocabulary and concepts for the upcoming Material’s Economy assessment in SS
  • Review Science vocab on plate tectonics
  • Practice speaking skills in preparation for upcoming speeches in EAP.
