What is happening in G6 ESL?
It’s May already and it’s another short 4-day week. This should be the last week of WIDA tests for EAP students. Remember to have a good night’s sleep, a healthy breakfast and keep calm and positive.
Mr Ken will not be here this week as he broke his arm and is in hospital.
The Listening Part 2 WIDA test will take place on Tuesday for EAP A.
The Listening & Reading Part 2 WIDAs will take place on Thursday and Friday for EAP H.
Students will have one more lesson to proofread and revise their mini persuasive essay on their Genre Wheel book. This is due Tues for Block A students. It is due Friday for Block H students. There will be no retakes for this assessment as you have had a lot of class time to polish these.
Students will work on their persuasive presentations for a Genre Wheel book.
Keep reading for your GW challenge as well – and submit those summaries! It has been great to see so many students making the most of the long weekends and reading!
This week an in-depth study of the Distribution, Consumption and Disposal components of the Material’s Economy will take place. There is some new vocab for this unit, so make sure you check the vocab lists in the ESL Resources folder.
Students will again continue learning vocabulary and concepts related to Ecosystems. Web quests (see the email sent by Mrs. Vergel with all the links) should be finished. There will be a bingo game and Kahoot to check your vocabulary!
